Space Week Celebration: International Museum of Art & Science
About Educational Resource
This program celebrated World Space Week and Apollo 50, running for four days from Thursday through Sunday. There were four labs that hosted hands-on art or science activities, two presentations in the portable StarLab planetarium and Science on a Sphere exhibit, along with ViewSpace videos on exhibit. The extended hours event of the program, Family Fun Night: Universe of Learning, featured a lecture by an astrobiologist and stargazing on the front lawn after sunset. There was a total of six to eight stations open throughout the event for general admission visitors.
This Program Model was developed and authored by International Museum of Art & Science, with minimal editorial input and review from NASA's Universe of Learning. NASA's Universe of Learning has contributed astrophysics content and subject matter expertise to support the creation of this material.
Other organizations may adapt these materials to meet the needs of their specific audiences. While this Program Model was designed to serve the local audience of the authoring institution, it is shared here as an example for broader use. Users should adjust it as needed and use all or some of the content, as appropriate, for their own needs.
